{Motherhood}

When you become a mother, you gain so much more than just a tiny human to take care of.

You gain understanding

You gain patience (although that comes with time)

You gain perspective

You gain knowledge

You gain experience

You also gain a love like no other. A bond so strong it lasts a lifetime.

{I never knew it could be so wonderful}

There are still days when I have no idea what I’m doing and wonder how we keep a human alive. Do you ever feel that way? I could barely keep plants alive before she came along. That’s a miracle in itself.  We do the best we can and know at the end of the day that it is enough. We are enough.

{Simple}

I sometimes feel I was born in the wrong era. I long to go back to the simple days. Less noise. Less electronics. Less traffic. Less S T U F F.

Don’t get me wrong, I am a sucker for being connected 24/7 to pretty much everything I could ever want. I also love the sense of security I feel knowing I have my phone to use in case of emergencies.

{But there are times when it gets in the way. When I find myself glued to it instead of enjoying the moment}

I want my daughter to know the value of hard work. I want her to get out and explore. To seek adventure. I am the one who has to show her the way and I intend to do my best.

So I’m making a promise to myself (and my daughter) to put the phone down more. To get back to the things I love. To enjoy these precious moments with her while she’s still little.

Because time goes so so fast. Moments are fleeting. And we may miss them if we are looking down.

Introductions

Hello friends! I’m new to the blogging world but have been wanting a place to write down all my thoughts, dreams and hopes from motherhood to life’s craziness to our farmhouse plans. I have been so inspired by fellow bloggers and love to get ideas and inspiration from them. Now about me: I am a thirty-something wife and mother to our daughter, Abigail Mae who is still figuring out how to balance it all in this crazy world. Hope you tag along on this journey with me!

{Side note} This picture was taken well over a year ago but getting this little girl to sit still for a picture is nearly impossible anymore. Mamas of toddlers understand:)
